Whoever Lacks Wisdom Let Him Ask of God

I googled the words Biblical Wisdom and this is what came up:  “Understanding the consequences of our actions and words before we act or speak.”

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I grew up.  There was always a consequence to my actions.  If I disobeyed what I was told, whether I agreed with it or not, I was punished.  I grew up in the 60’s and early 70’s so no point in mentioning how I was punished.  I would say being grounded from one of the best slumber parties, EVER, was enough to make me tow the line the next time.

But today at 60+ years old I still l think about consequences of my choices.  If I speed in my car I’m probably going to get a speeding ticket.  If I live on fried junk food I’m probably going to have a heart attack and I did.  But what about good choices that brings the result of a consequence.  Today so many people deny the existence of Christ.  They say, God doesn’t exist if He did all the bad things in the world wouldn’t be happening.  I don’t see Him so I don’t believe in whom I don’t see.  I am God of myself and I need no other God.  Heaven and hell aren’t real so when I die it’s not going to matter how I lived.

What a dangerous way to live your life.  I have a thought for you.  If I have lived as a Christian the very best way I can and it’s true there’s no Heaven and no Hell and I die like a dog with no eternity then at least I lived a good life on earth.  But here’s the danger, what if Heaven and Hell are real?  You live your life anyway you want to, deny Christ is the risen Savior and you die.  You will no doubt wake up in Hell.  My dad used to joke when I go to hell I’ll be selling ice water.  I can promise you that’s not the case.

Everyday we need to live our lives as if today could be our last day.  Wouldn’t you want to wake up in Heaven, where everything is good.  Wouldn’t you want to spend eternity with someone you knew and loved for sure died and went there?  I can assure you if you end up in the other place you won’t know anyone or anything but complete misery.

Wisdom – understanding the consequences of our actions and words before we speak or act.
